  1. Heist

From the album Wise Guy

What’s a crime fiction story without a robbery? This twisty latin piece is predicated by an ostinato played in the piano and bass. Heist is the only tune on Wise Guy where Martin plays Baritone Saxophone, and the first track on the record to feature a bass solo. I finish my solo with a long descending pentatonic eighth note line and Marty takes the reins into a blistering bari solo, developing his motiv into the depths of horns range. Matt takes a trill filled solo before Brendan solo’s over the ostinato and brings us back to the top. We end the final moments of the tune with a Horace-esque b5->5->b2->1.
